Story Time!
It all started with a road trip for my mom’s college graduation. On the way back home, we stopped for dinner at a vegan restaurant in Kentucky whose name I wish I remembered. It was so good that even my non-vegan family members were raving about it. Anyway, while we were there enjoying our delicious food, my grandmother noticed a plant on the table. She asked me if that was an angel wing plant. She said that she had one a long time ago and that she missed it. I told her I had no idea, but I would find out. As the chef/owner came out to ask us how everything was, I said it was beyond fantastic! But I do have a quick question. What kind of plant is this? He said he wasn’t sure, but we could have a cutting if we wanted. I didn’t have any experience, but I was determined to try. He brought out some scissors, and I cut a piece. I wrapped the cutting in a paper towel and bought a water bottle to place it in. We drove it all the way to Wisconsin, safe and sound. I propagated it and gave my grandma one, so we both could have one, and now you can too.
P.S. It is called a begonia. 🌼
